TGR Haas F1 Team finished with Ollie Bearman 11th and Esteban Ocon 13th, at the Miami Grand Prix, held Sunday at the Miami International Autodrome.
Both Bearman and Ocon took the start on Pirelli P Zero Yellow medium tires, with Ocon cycling through from 14th to 13th, with Bearman slotting in behind. The Briton moved ahead of the sister VF-26 on the second lap, and both drivers made up positions when Pierre Gasly and Isack Hadjar suffered separate accidents on lap five, causing the safety car to be deployed.
Bearman preserved 11th place at the restart, ahead of Ocon, before coming into the pit lane on lap 26 for White hard tires. Ocon followed suit on lap 31, also taking on hard tires, and the pair re-emerged in 11th and 12th respectively. Bearman held position through to the checkered flag, while Ocon ceded one place to the Audi of Gabriel Bortoleto, coming home in 13th.
TGR Haas F1 Team sits in sixth position in the Constructors’ Championship on 18 points.
Up front, Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes recorded his third successive victory, ahead of McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Esteban Ocon: "We were going for a good race, but unfortunately after the pit stop that was not the case anymore, so we need to review that. I think it would have been difficult to get into the points as we lacked a little bit of pace and it was quite tricky to stay on track and get a good rhythm. We had some degrading on the tires as we were pushing hard. There are still plenty of positives to take and a lot of good lessons for us. Onto Montreal now and looking forward to seeing what we can do."
